Has anyone ever anchored at the mouth of the PPC out of the way of boat traffic ? What side do you prefer the Bay Head side or the Manasquan River side ? What anchor would you reccomend a wreck anchor or a regular danforth ? I am concerned that my danforth would get stuck with all of the rocks etc by the canal. Any help is appreciated. Thanks.

Nice hole that holds flounder. Set up just outside and cast into it....

I always anchor in the Manasquan side, fore and aft with 2 danforths. Never an issue. Make certain to stay off to the side out of way from traffic. Chumming there will bring in all species in the fall ( usually right after fluke closes). Chumming in the spring will bring in flounder and bluefish after May 1st.

Early fishing for flounder usually is more productive at the southern end, at the previously mentioned hole or near Dales Marina ( now Sanzari Marina). Catch 'em up.........Papa
