Heading down to St lucia in the end of June. Looking to get on a charter either do some trolling or bottom fishing. Also bringing a telescopic rod to fish from the beach and kayak. Anyone ever fish out there? tips?

Fished there on my honeymoon. Charter was booked through Sandals, but I believe the boat was called "Captain Mike's." Not my favorite trip as we just trolled around in rough seas for 4 hours with one barracuda to show for it. Then again, when I went it was the beginning of January so could be completely different (and better) in June. Seems like Captain Mike's gets good reviews, just may have hit it on a bad day. Good luck and enjoy! If nothing else, the views were spectacular.

Once you're clear of the island, there's nothing stopping those trade winds which lead to a steady diet of about 6-10' seas...add in the diesel fumes and heat, let's just say I took pride in being the only one to hold down my beers that day lol :D But ya never know, could be completely different in June. Will look for your report!
