But first................

I guess you can say our 2017 tuna season is off to a great start. 6 giants boats in 5 trips and another 3 fish around 71" released but it's the last trip that is really worthy of note. Capt. Deane Lambros and Ryan Britt fished the 48 Canyon Runner out of Oregon Inlet Tuesday and were tight on their first fish before their coffee as cold. That one hit the deck at 95". Two missed late then came a noon bite at 105" and as they were wrapping up to come home they picked a third fish at 75" for their limit. All fish were caught on the troll today.

Back at the wiegh station the 105" fish cored out at 560 pounds which puts it easily over 650!

Just waiting on the next weather window before the crew has to come back home to present at the NY Seminar next Saturday - February 25.

FYI - there are some video's on our Facebook page so check it out when you have a moment

Folks - the bluefin fishing remains excellent off of Oregon Inlet with Capt. Deane Lambros and Ryan Britt nailing 2 bluefins on Thursday with fish of 85" and 73". They went right back out Friday and broke one off plus add a few yellowfin and ended up overnighting. They are back on the grounds right now hopefully finding the fish on the feed.

Just one week left now until our final Seminar of the year in Long Island, NY. As is typical with our NY folks for the past 14 years we've been doing this they like to wait until the last minute to get their tickets. Well this year might be an issue. With the expanded topics to select and the return of Tred Barta to the Northeast Canyons as he presents 4 different topics for the day - we've are just about at last years total tickets sales. That means just 25 tickets left to fit folks through the door. Once your done enjoying today's great weather please give us a call and nail down your seats - 732-842-6825 or email adam@canyonrunner.com

I'll get pics of Thursday's bluefins up soon - we have a Military guy out with us on that trip and got some good pics and videos since we had the extra help.

So as it turns out - my boys have been busier than i thought on these past few trips out of Oregon Inlet. They've boxed up about 25 yellowfin as well in the past week or so. They finished up the weekend with a bunch of yellowfin and a last minute bluefin around 74" on Monday. Unfortunatly, Capt. Deane had to run home to Connecticut for jury duty - but he told the Judge (and this is no b.s.) that "the bluefin bite is on and he needs to get back down to North Carolina" and the judge dismissed him for serving.

With the bluefin fishing this good and with abundance of yellowfin this is now a very good fishery for our charters so starting next week we will be running bluefin/yellowfin charters out of Oregon Inlet - full boat charters only - so give me a shout if you want a trip - with only one month left to fish these dates aren't going to last very long.

Finally, over NY Seminar at the Huntington Hilton in Melville, Long Island is this Saturday. Do NOT plan on thinking you can get tickets at the door. We are already at last year's number and we have 3 days to go - so please if you plan on coming please but your tickets TODAY - we only have 15 tickets left.

Email me at adam@canyonrunner.com or call 732-272-4445 for either the charter or the tickets.
