What's your go to size and make for blackfish hooks? I'm new to fishing this species. As always thanks for any input you may have.

Come to the Hi-Mar fishing flea market on Feb 11. Introduce yourself to me and I will hook you up with hooks and pre tied rigs of you want to get you started
Once you start fishing for them you will be hooked for sure

Hope to see you at Hi Mar! Are you going to be in your usual spot near the entrance?

Gami 3/0 or 4/0 octopus. I prefer a slightly smaller hook as I think it's easier to hook the crab while hiding the hook. Would use 5/0 only if I was hog hunting. Either way you fish with what your confident in. Always a head game with blackfish;-)

though not as easy to find... I favor Daiichi black chrome 3/0- 5/0 octopus. Bullet proof points and super strong shank.
