Its amazing that Japan consumes 80 present of Pacific Blue fin tuna. At least they are trying to do something about it. Very interesting video.

I found it interesting when he said they've been at this for 32 years and that's how long it took to fully grow one. I was never that good at math but I reckon that brings us back to 1985. There was no real bluefin problem back then and fish farming was in it's infancy, certainly not with such a difficult species as tuna. So was this guy some sort of visionary? Was Japan always ape shit over toro, even back then? Anyway, must be some massive R&D and practical costs involved with such a high mortality rate. No mention of farm raised prices. I assume their government is paying much of the freight.

I think there were pens in St.Mary's bay , Nova Scotia , a long time ago !
