With some cold weather coming this weekend, do you think there will be a chance of catching ling or cod?

I won't speak for the capt of course, but I can tell you that guys on blackfish boats get pissed if you use bait other than crabs, and will let you know it fairly quickly... Brings the doggies around and keeps them around... Especially if you use good size gobs of clams or squid for Cod... bob

Saturday we will be fishing off shore where we could see some ling and cod mixed in with the blackfish.

We will fish a longer day Saturday leaving at 7:00 AM. I do notexpect a lot of people with the cold but will do some searching.

Thanks captain George

Fair enough capt.. Any problems with us bringing along and using some clams, squid or cut bait if togging is slow?...I know a lot of die hard blackfish guys don't like it and will tell you so in no uncertain terms, and I would prefer not to make enemies of the crew or the guys fishing alongside me. bob

I am getting some clams from our sister ship which is making a special block Island cod trip tomorrow night. We would only use clams if the togging is slow.

One thing i do not like is the NOAA forecast of 15 to 20 with gusts to 30. Wind Guru shows light winds. We will see what is up tomorrow.

Thanks captain George
