made the long drive down today, and about 2 weeks ago as well.. Blackfishing was awful for most guys on the boat both days.. There was a grand total of ONE smallish keeper on the boat when we pulled anchor after a 2 + hour first drop.. Most guys didn't even have a short at that point... It was one of the slowest bites on tog i have ever witnessed.. Windy as hell out there too.. Second drop started out on fire for the fortunate 3 guys that ran up to the bow as soon as a good fish was boated there. Should have got there quick myself!. It was along the port side from the pulpit and back for maybe 3-4 rod holders along the port side.. Any further back toward the stern, no one even got a hit.. for a half hour those 3 guys had a nice bite, and wound up with 2 or 3 nice fish each.. Other than that there were very few keepers all day, and probably 2/3 of us never got a keeper.. i was lucky to get 3 shorts which was about par for the course.. Couple weeks back same story.. I got 1 keeper and 2 shorts all day.. if you weren't along the port side from midship to stern that day, you didn't catch fish.. been a poor couple trips for me... never seem to be in the middle of the bite.. Can't complain though I had a LOT of company... starting to wonder about late season tog on head boats.. Some of the regulars said they had much better fishing first few weeks of the season, and it has been fading fast.. makes sense I suppose... Don't want to mention the boat name at this time... bob

Bob you should try getting on a 6pack it is worth the extra $ especially when you add in cost of lead, hooks, leader etc... also you have better shot at a good bite. I do enjoy jumping aboard a pb when I can but since you come from so far it be worth it to just go on a 6pack.
