Went on the 1 AM non-sponsor offshore Seabass trip yesterday and left the dock on time had a comfortable ride out started fishing right around sunrise. Took a little while for the Seabass to wake up but once they did it was steady action all around the boat Seabass ranging from 2 to 6 pounds. About lunchtime friend of mine fishing with a jig hooks into a Seabass about halfway up line starts peeling off the reel heading due east about a minute later a big mako breaks the surface just off the bow had to be at a bare minimum 10 foot long soon as he broke the surface wound up spitting out what was left of my buddies sea bass .by the end of the trip myself and one eye mike wound up with 28 Seabass to 5 1/2 pounds and 26 porgies. And the other two guys that came along with me between them had a limit of Seabass each and somewhere around 40 porgies between the two of them . As always Captain Jeff and Captain and John and the crew did a great job working for all of their customers and everyone had a great day on the water can't wait for next season

Gold hammered diamond jigs 4 to 6 ounces seem to be the popular jig on yesterday's trip for the Seabass

I only had one not too many doggies either but the mates did say to stay away from teasers on the jig rigs the bluefish were more partial to them than the jigs
