Thanks for posting. At least its getting some attention. I honestly think Schumer is the guy that can get some traction for change. He doesn't want to lose what he gained for NY to begin with and he has some power.

How is this possible?? Chuck Schumer a Democrat...A LIBERAL helping out fisherman ? I have read so many anti-dem/lib posts on this site. I think this is a job for Donny not Chuck! Merry Christmas!

The big mistake made by Fishermen is going strictly by party lines. Politicians from both sides have helped and hurt. Schumer is engaged for fishing rights for his NY constituents and proved it by getting regionalization passed so NY got the same regs as NJ and CT when they were at 2 Fish x 20". He doesn't want to lose that ground with his own. Happy holidays to you as well

It's not a party issue
It's a big govt vs states rights issue

Agreed and I don't care who gets it done. We will work with whatever branch of legislation that is willing to work with us.

Good old Chucky has a different issue every week. next week it will be another and he will have forgotten all about this.

Same shit in NJ with Pallone for years, blah, blah, pics in the news, gone. However since its about all we got we have to get from them whatever we can.
Smith repub in NJ for years, quiet as a mouse as usual. Crawl up there asses. Call sportswriters and have them call these guys out, they hate bad publicity. E-mail daily, send letters weekly. Better than nothing

I am not a overall fan of Schumer but I believe he attended both fisherman rallies in D.C..... did you?
If not maybe it is time for you to get off your azz and have your voice heard finally.
Numbers are the only thing that will get the politicians and media attention on this matter.
So instead of throwing your hands up in the air and saying you can't do anything about it, make a difference and be counted.

going to this meeting can def show more voice than our marches in Washington did. and if the info is right for the evening meeting , no reason local people here cant show up in a bigger force. as far as recs go washingtons marches were a lousy showing by rec anglers.

Now is the time to be heard and make a difference. Sit on your azz now and you will be doing that all summer also twirling your thumbs and wishing you were fishing.

I am no great fan of Palllone especially when Ft. Monmouth closed and I lost the commissary, health clinic and pharmacy. However I have to credit him with taking care of the beaches and fighting for recreational sport anglers. Each person in Congress should be judged by their positions on what matters to you NOT the party they belong to.

Schemer was very responsible for saving NY's fluke fishery , having him on our side on this issue is welcomed by me .
If I remember he spoke at both Washington rallies , the fisherman attendance on the second leg of these rallies was terrible .
Can't let that happen now , every dead ass gotta get out and get this on track while there's still time .
If politicians smell indifference then they surmise maybe this issue is not that important but if we all bitch then I'm sure we'll get them to step up .
