My late wife and I used to fish there in the '80s and early '90s. Plenty of Pacific striped marlin back then, and each boat kept two of them.
Met OJ down there in The Giggling Marlin Bar & Grille (http://www.gigglingmarlin.com/) a few years before he murdered Nicole and Ron. She and her mom and sister were with the real killer at the time.

Squirrel- Everything has changed down there, even the Giggling Marlin, they no longer hang tourists upside down (guess someone got dumped on their head) instead they have a model of the marlin and the tourist! All the great expeeriences are gone. Squid Row was kind of tame, could be it wasn't really tourist season yet. Here's another photo of the hitchhiker I was feeding, the day before another lion came up and was 3 times the size, but I didn't have a camera ready.

Do the taxis still only carry fares one way or the other between the airport and the town? My most memorable experience was foolishly snacking on some salsa & tortilla chips and waking up later puking my guts out while my dear Judy arranged an early flight over to a hospital in Mazatlan on our way home. My doctor in the Philly 'burbs later told me to throw out the pills they gave me, and a week or so later I was good as new.
I don't recall seeing any sea lions on our fishing trips out of Cabo, and am sure my wife would've loved them. "Pancho" here (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=U8VAkBUKraE) must've been hired by the local chamber of commerce.
The boats were killing the striped marlin at an alarming rate in the '80s and '90s, so they're probably not too plentiful now. The town used to be quaint and picturesque, but I'd imagine it looks like Miami, FL now.
It was great getting away to those exotic places, but the best big game fishing we ever experienced was in the canyons off NJ. Ditto for the inshore trips, and good ol' Mariner's Cove and Spike's offer much safer and tastier cuisine.
