Headed out for what will probably be the last trip for us; targeting tog and bypassed birds in the bay that turned out to apparently be over bait with bass on them...oh well. set up shop on the reef in 55ft depth after a few tries anchoring in the under-forecasted wind. I probably shouldn't have been using a 2oz jig in the ripping wind but i wanted to test it's limitations! John with the bait rig was picking up more fish than me with the jig but my jig was pulling in 50% keeper ratio 5/10!! :D

After the morning pick of keepers the bite died for a while and the wind finally died down. thought i could really get to work with the jig, but i thought i felt a big hit and lifted the hook hard into....a snag haha. couldn't get it loose and ended up loosing the last of that type of jig. Tied on a different one (different color, slightly different shape) and didn't get another bite the rest of the afternoon!!

maybe a coincidence idk, but it sure gets in your head! anyway John picked up my afternoon slack and made up for his morning dink fest by starting to haul in some nice blackfish in the last 1.5 hours of the trip! including a 21 inch hog and another nice one ending the day with 17 blackfish.

2 guys, 30 tog, 7 keepers, not bad.

The marina is literally going to pull the boat out haha out of our control unfortunately. I'll probably try to get one charter trip in though.
