Bob took us back to the approximate place as last week.Had difficult conditions trying to have the hook set--finally did after he blew the start whistle. Super Moon had a real effect on current. Only the 3rd time I've seen it out here; full moon(1 day after) still 2 hrs above western horizon and sun 1/2 hr up in the eastern sky. At night, you could see the horizon 360* with moon directly overhead---very cool--like seeing the Aurora Borealis about the same time out here many, many moons ago!!!!! Water 62* & same color as last week---a little green in the blue and clear. Saw porpoise, a few during the beginning and a lone Mola Mola paid us a visit along with a lone, lost Mahi. 18 us on board so it was like a lite load. A couple first-timers and a few regulars, Pete(ol pedro) Tonk(capt 74), Shorts(2na), Edwin & probably 2-3, at least, I don't know on board. Nothing during the night; @ 7:15AM the first bite & a boated 65# yellowfin. Then, until 1:15PM, a very slow pick of 50-55# birds hooked up and boated for a total of 5. As always, during the daylight , "light was right" and "way out". NOAA was off a bit this time--it never lay down on Wed. Wind, seas built a bit and ride in started slow due to the head seas/wind. It laid down 1/2 way in but with spray still coming over the port rail until the Jersey Shore was well in sight. 2na was his usual self in supplying homemade cup cakes(thanks to Jess) and homemade trail mix(again Jess) for everyone on board...trail mix better than anything you can buy, by far & the cup cakes are "to die for"...Our crew, 2nd capt Todd, Nico Walt & Kyle kept us happy and fed for breakfast, tending to the many tangles due to current, wind & different weighted lines & general assistance throughout the trip with their usual expertise and good nature...kudos to them & Capt Bob for a labor of love well done.
Keep watch on this forum for a very IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT, most likely before the New Year, about next year...

Nice meeting you and fishing with you Chuck. Going light didn't help me but it was a cool trip none the less. My only action was a run off by a shark.
Except for setting the anchor! I was ready to join the boys chumming at the rail then. After dragging it and then having it pop the mate told me we almost called it quits and headed back.
Time to clean up and put all the gear I've had out for a month and a half away.

As the great greenskeeper Carl Spackler said "and that's all she wrote".

Great report as always Chucky. Your reports always find a way to make it seem as if we were actually on board.

Cannot wait for next year! My "tuna fund" is starting to build up. Hoping to make it out 3 or 4 times next season.

Looking forward to the Important Announcement....hoping for good news!!
