Celtic Stoirm weekend report 11/12, 11/13

[Celtic Stoirm]

On Saturday we had Gary and the boys out from South Plainfield or a day of stripe bass fishing. We left the docks at 6am and made a left out of the inlet. We had good reports that the fish were off Asbury. We observed several boats tied to the beach live-lining. We started to troll, and hooked up within 45 minutes. We worked the area for several hours more, without results. So we picked up our lines and ran north to the rocks. We trolled for several hours, but got no bites. We pulled in the lines, ran back to Asbury, were we had the best bait readings of the day. We were able to land another bass before calling it a day. So, we returned to the dock at 2:30pm.

On Sunday we had a few friends out for a day of fishing. What a difference a day makes! We started in Asbury, reading bait besides the jig, and we landed a couple of blue fish. We observed fish breaking on top of the water, so we broke out the trolling rods and landed 7 bass along with several blue fish in the next hour. We limited out on our unders, so we decided to try live-lining on the beach, unfortunately without results. It was a day of epic fishing off Asbury!!
