What a day...
Had Chad Wolfe on the boat and friends for a bass trip. Left in the dark and headed to where we knew the bait was.
First 4 bunkers in the water produced bass almost instantaneously, then after that we had a few more, couple dropped fish, but still a good pick. All nice fish with a quick limit of unders coming in minutes (crew limit) as well as 1 over.
By around 8 (lost track of time might've been later) things slowed and I got a call that there was a little spoon bite going on so we made a short run to this area, put out the maja's, and went to work trying to pick up another over and finished off the boat limit of unders while releasing a dozen fish. Also had a few bluefish.
Called it a day before 1 with all of our 8 unders in the box to 41" as well as 2 overs which were both 45" and the biggest was about 30# -- again we released an even dozen unders to about 41-42" since we boxed our limit of those. Also put 4 bluefish in the box and released a few more.
Great trip. The bite at first light was pure carnage with bass in the pods (not blowing up) eating everything with whales breaching all around us. Overall a Memorable day with a great crew!!!
