Pushed off bright and early before my afternoon class today with my old man. Anchored up on one of our go to pieces and had 0 life. No bites at all which was frustrating to say the least. There was a nice sized swell out of the East which I believe gave these fish lockjaw. The swell vs a west wind had us swinging a little but it was manageable. The fish just did not want to chew. Made 4 drops with nothing besides a massive eel and a dinky seabass until finally we found a piece where they decided to chew. Nice steady bite for about 30/40 minutes until we had to pull the hook and head home. Kept the first two keepers which were around 16 inches because we were afraid of how slow our day was but we had fish to 20 inches. All fish caught on greenies. On our way home we ran into miles and miles of bunker just north of SRI however there was nothing underneath them. Back to the dock at 11 just before the rain came in.
Forgot to add, we saw 3 whales throughout the day launching out of the water as well as a ton of dolphins which was exciting to see
