I was trailering my boat to a lake yesterday when a thought crossed my mind. What if something broke on the trailer, making it imossible to tow? Or how about if my car broke down and had to be towed, leaving the boat and trailer behind? Who would I call? It's not like I can have AAA come and get the trailer.

Is there a AAA type service out there for boats on the road or does AAA actually handle that too? I can't think of any friends or family members who have a tow hitch on their cars.

My Geico Marine Ins has road side towing for boat & trailer. But they sub it out to someone else. All the same coverage though.

I tried getting insurance for my boat was turned down because it was over 30 years old. It's a simple 14 ft Grumman with a 9.9 on the back.

AAA will come for your trailer. I broke down a couple weeks ago and AAA put my truck on the roll up and the trailer behind.

I had the same issue with a 1983 Mirrocraft. Can not insure.

Both Sea Tow / Progressive and Boat Us /GEICO have trailer coverage.

In fact I had my trailer frame break on this boat literally on the Rte35 Bridge over the Raritan River. Flat bedded both Cherokee and trailer together.

Thanks, that's good to know.

Sea tow gold package. They did a great job when I lost a wheel bearing a couple of years ago
