Headed to the bay tomorrow morning for Stripers. Planning on trying to find birds and jiggin. Coming in from North Pennsylvania, could anyone give any Intel on where to put in? Are the majority of the fish in the back of the Bay? Keyport/Amboys... That would be the closest marina for me or are most of the fish out towards the hook or Oceanside at the rocks, if so maybe it makes sense to put in at the highlands?
Any Intel would be appreciated, I may only get one day at it this fall.

put in mid bay if you can. go to the birds but be prepared for picky fish! They were everywhere sunday but the fish were up and down pretty quick. the back bay had many smaller schoolies but there were some nice 28-32 inchers there too, seemed more mid bay though. every day is different, good luck.
The cows are down by seaside park and ortley beach!!

If you plan to stay in the bay, I would concentrate my efforts from Keyport to Great Kills and east. Jig or pop them if they are visible and crashing bait, if not troll Mojos or Bunker Spoons or Shad Body umbrella rigs.
Some nice fish in the mix, you just have to ride around and find them.

Same with me, except had to push it until Wednesday. Heading to illinois for some antlers (hopefully!).
Thanks for the info guys. Still yet to put a striper on the deck of my boat...

Live lining and chunking also works in the fall. The bunker hve showed the past couple years in the fall migration. Years ago it was the norm. Thanks to the resrictions on "REDUCTION" bunker boats we have an abundance of menhaden.:):)
