Well I was fortunate enough to have opening day seabass with the monger. The weathermen & fellow anglers had me nervous to no end but captain Hank told me it would be fine.
Got my handsome crew of poppa Kurtis, poppa vince, hooknose, corn cob chris, our resident shrink evan, fisty frankel, scooter, islander & the handsome zagorski to the boat at 6 & we set off at 630. Got to inlet were greeted by a swell but nothing to bad at all. Got to area & it was rainy & windy causing hank to have to drop the hook but we picked & plucked all day in rain & wind but not rough seas. Ended day with 105 seabass 70 porgies, some blowfish, blues, eels, flying whiting & bergals. Also threw back 4 fluke & loads of spiny dogs already as well as some short tog.

Hank, Darren & Mike were again top notch as always. Me & poppa Kurtis both orl, joey z & poppa Vince put on a dogfish clinic, pb trigger for poppa vince, frankel showed us a blowfish trick, joey z had an avet disintegrate from the salt air, & scotty ate 33 lbs of lasagna.thanks to philthy orr for te beer drop off hope ur feeli g betrer!

But Now for what matters. NMFS CAN SMD! we threw back at least 200 12.5-12.999999999 inch sea bass so thanks a lot u dirty pricks just keep it up & put people out of business while I see 7 inch sea bass sold daily in supermarkets.we would a limited out by 9 if it was last year. Can't wait to get out again next week

The handsome zagorski? That's like saying unicorns are real and there is a pot of gold at the end of the rainbow.

I miss all you guys including john and capt. Hank!!

For the first time in as long as I can remember seeing a lot of reports with blowfish. Hope that's a trend which continues and that fishery comes back to even a fraction of what it was in the 60's / 70's. One of the best tasting fish in the ocean, wonder where they've been for the last 45 - 50 years and why suddenly they seem to be staging a comeback? Hope it bodes well for the future! Some nice size fish being caught, only hope they continue their resurgence!

That's the whole point! NMFS wants to slowly put the Charter and party boats out of business. They won't publicly says this but that is what the goal is.
