Received a phone call on Friday that Salmon River was stacked so without thinking twice call my buddy and off we went.
Fishing was nothing short of amazing. I stop counting after about 30 hook ups. It was just non stop action all day long with pretty much every part of the day producing some action.
Overall landed about 10 on Saturday but only managed 1 on Sunday. Saturday out of 10 landed only 1 was female and rest were all male. On Sunday was a different story pretty much all fish that was landed by people on river were females.
Did not see or landed a single coho, but did missed a bunch of chrome rockets and some browns.
Once pictures received will update with some fish porn but for now just need to take a breather.
With dam flow back to usual lots of fished entered. Not sure what this warm weather will do to them but next week should heat up again.

Was up there as well. Thursday and Friday was even better than Saturday. Sunday was slow for us. Our group probable caught 30+ fish, biggest being 27#.

Chris
Buddy anytime if you ready to go. As long as the hat comes.
Mike,
Not a lot of chrome in river yet. Was in Olcott on Columbus day weekend and was actually having a field day with all the chrome action. That's is if you could get your eggs through dam gobys.
Probably will see you there in two weeks buddy.
Aca,
Not sure about Thursday but I heard Friday was amazing that why went there. Rumors were true. Had no idea why Sunday was slow. Well it wasn't actually slow it just I have never had so many snapped leaders in my live. Went from 8 to 14.5 and same story over and over again. Fish was on much bigger scale than usually. Shaping up to me a good run. Not great but still good.

where were you fishing? I was up there saturday fishing lower river and stopped at compactor for a little. Fishing was slower for me than last weekend. Still managed to land about 6/7 fish with one pushing 30lbs. Few guys i talked to said that friday was on fire at the lower river.

i fished friday, saturday and sunday near the ballpark and all i saw was people literally chasing fish in the shallows and snagging them in the back. I fished a deeper spot just above the madness and managed to land 1 out of 6. aside from the one i landed i did not see one fish hooked in the mouth out of hundreds. (all were kept)

NJ,
I usually fish Trestle pool and Ellis cove. Those two are my go to spots. Got there at 2 am and saw fish moving so pretty much stayed there all weekend. After 5pm I move to Town pool since most of the clowns are gone and stay there until end.
Matt,
You right about ballpark. That's why I didn't even stay there. Out of 11 I landed only two were foul hooked and all except 1 are still swimming. Probably turning into zombies now with all that warm weather.
On a side note people just have to learn to get out of the way when you fighting fish. No matter how much directions you give them they still think that they have time to cast out. But worse ones are the ones that just stay there and let line wrap around their legs. Never wanted to bash someone in a head with a rock more in my life. And acting all surprised. Beh.
Back to grind next weekend.

Andre the giant for times like that best thing i found out works well is take mental note when u do hook a fish turn the rod opposite way fish is running and let it run into that guys line and tangle the shit outta evreyone around him too then cut ur line and retie! Unless its a steelie then start screaming evrey russian and polish word you know😝

Da comrads!
I gave up chasing salmon after 20+ years. The crowds get to me. Put the pursuit of steel will being in another month or so, and I'll enjoy my Dec/Jan/Feb trips up there.
Nice job guys! Good to see the salmon made a nice return this year, but was kind of expected given the runs back on 2012 and 2013.

Lol Mike,
Nuah. I don't think I have enough curse words in English, Russian ad Polish combined in order to convey my opinion. Need to brush up on my Spanish and French and then we can be talking. Usually I just switch to braid that I have just for occasions like that. But then I read about what they do to line of fighting kites in india and that sounds like an idea. Just coat the line in crashed glass and cut through everyone. Yeah buddy. Fingers included.
On another hand I would not be surprised if I start pulling out half of salmon like that. Hmm
