Eels around the hook. Look for birds, Blues and Albies. Small metal like 007. That should do it. Good luck. Look forward to your report.

Since your launching outta keyport I'd run in to the Perth amboy area of the Arthur kill. Now is usually when bunker sit back there and bass beat up on th. If there's nothing there you can always hit the hook but it's a lot closer. Look for marks and try trolling if the bait isn't there. Goodluck

Seems like most of the action during the daylight hours is back in the rivers with schoolies. Night fishing has been on and off but they are catching much larger fish. Pretty typical this time of year since the season is just getting started. It should break wide open day and night any day now.

I'd be eeling at night on the drift and anchor up and chunk bunker during the day.

Thanx for all of the insight, no success for me today searched all over the bay as well as ocean. Found minimal bird life and not a ton of bait. I did mark fishbum the back of the bay towards the New York side where I trolled along with 2 other boats. Upon returning to the marina one of the other boats trolling did landing e keeper and the other boat was unsuccessful. It's only the matter of time!
