After getting them in 8’ of water last week, we had good action today in 88’. Dales joined Henry, Ronnie and me and we steamed off-shore in hopes of finding some fat flatties before the NJ season ends on Sunday. We were fortunate to find a nice patch that we kept plucking from, ending the morning with 7 keepers - all fatties. One stray Bluefish, many Sea Robins, zillions of out-of-season Sea Bass, lots of short Fluke (as small as 6”), we had good action all morning. Drift was quite fast (1.5 kts) and that probably prevented the fluke from heeding our pleas to “come on back”. It was one & done on Fluke bites when you drift that fast.

Thanks for finding them Henry !! We tried several different depths today until we found the zone. It’s encouraging that they are still chewin’ in the deep.

Great fishing with you guys today as always. Glad we made the call to run offshore a bit. Henry can find them for sure. See you Friday Larry
Not to beat a dead horse but AGAIN we fished a nice Wednesday with little to no Boat traffic. Prob 8 to 10 boats out there including the local PB's so I continue to see light pressure on any / all species up and down the coast. Sea bass stock is fine and wish those that set our regulations would finally admit stocks are good and recreational pressure is light.
All shorts swam away in good health and fast back to the bottom!!!!

Good crew, lots of busting, but got the job done. Fast drift , lots of hangers, many just short. Larry still doesn't know about that when an X appears on the GPS nice fish appear. Years ago the X was on the bottom of the boat.

But Larry has a knack for hooking some nice fish, and being able to get them to the boat, right Dave.

First let me express my extreme gratitude for all the well wishes!
Henry runs a tight ship. If he let me measure with their mouths open;) I would have a had a limit plus but truth in reporting I didn't make the keeper list yesterday so no photo op for me. Many fish at 17 1/2 to 17 7/8" Going right back out tomorrow for redemption. stay tuned
