Talked with the partrol boat and the said 750 yards from all areas of the pier. On the funny side the reason for no cans was they were to expensive to maintain and replace for the government!!!!

FYI - A yak buddy of mine (i guess they don't impose the same threat as a vessel under power) had drifted in about 500 yards off. When CG came over, they advised they can fine up to $5,000. That's not a type-o.
That would be one expensive fluke. Better hope its a doormat!

I was told 700 yards. And they're serious. Leonardo Marina is right there too.

I called early in the year - they are NOT very friendly considering we pay their salaries - the girl I talked to didn't and wouldn't give me an answer as to why they pulled them out but said just to stay 750 yards off where the buoys were before they were pulled out - she did mention very STEEP fines - you can run a straight line into Leonardo with no problem - we cut a few corners now and then & they don't seem to mind but they are VERY STRICT when a ship is tied up in the PIER, then I wouldn't play games.
