It was a decent day with the BIG BLUES. They were all on bait. The BLUES weighed up to 18 lbs. There were a lot of BIG BLUEFISH and a lot of ALBACORE. It was very good fishing with the ALBIES. Some people had about 15 ALBIES and we also had a few BONITA. It looks like more and more fish are getting here so come on down and enjoy some of this fishing.

The GOLDEN EAGLE sails every day for STRIPERS & BLUES at 7:30 am from Belmar Marina in Belmar, NJ.

Just a super super day on the Golden Eagle. Waited a year for this and it couldn't have been better. Captain Rich took one look at all the eager albie people on board, did the right thing and said damn the torpedoes, we're heading east. Actually wasn't that bad and it laid down pretty quick. Worked out great for us as it was too rough for the smaller boats and had the whole place to ourselves. We started working the tsunami split tails and right away had albies on which continued all day. Oddly enough they didn't touch the spearing I floated out with 14lb fluro but did take a bunch of whole sardines 60 feet down on wire leader blues hooks so even the rentals got their fair share. Go figure. Oh yeah, those 18lb blues were nothing to sneeze at either. Will be back for more tomorrow.
