Where the eff are they already?? Looks like another bust year for them. Been in the right place twice with clean water and nothing. Bonita too, usually see a few of them during the summer here and there, only heard of one being caught 6 weeks ago. One.

You guys who keep albies, what do you do with them? I've always been told they're not even fit for cat food.

Great shark bait and chum when ground up.
Skippies and green bonito are delicious though when handled properly and quickly.

Caught 3 this morning at the inlet, for you guys who know where I am. Watched the surfer's site during the week, and thought it was a weakfish bite, but when I got there, it was all Albie's jumping out and chasing small baits into the rocks and beach,. fly guys were running, but i didn't see any being caught there, but I was busy...........1. 8#, 1 6or7# and a very strong 11-12# that took drag on my 10#test mono....another run when he saw the boat, and another run when it saw the net ( I wouldn't lift a fish that big on 10# test mono. All on mini deadly dicks. but clark's spoons will do it or mini Hopkins... I loved the moment. go get 'em.,,,,,,,,,,Papa

Like I said, all I had to do was whine and there they were. Hopped on the Golden Eagle yesterday and Captain Rich braved the big roll and went east offshore. Hammered the albies to 15lbs and the huge blues to 18lbs. Albies took everything from tsunami soft baits to whole sardines on 6/0 hooks with wire leaders 80 feet down. Amazing day!
People do eat them. I don't know if it's more than once but they sure look happy as they carry their bags of fillets off the boat.
