Woke up early before a day off with the wife- snuck out to my usual not so local lake(twin) and nailed two- chatterbait of all things- originally was planing to topwater frog-(heavy weeds in spots) from the dam but I got one third cast, got around a stump- fish got away- frog is stuck to the stump- grab it next time I yak there- looked like a better fish- couldn't throw my smaller frogs- had my 6-6ugly stick /pflueger 40 combo(braid :heavy mono for weeds)
Either way- two fish and solid fight prior is a good start to the day!

Yea- I grabbed them on a whim- didn't know they were newish and had been infomercial-Ed-
I bend the blades a hair more in and down- more erratic- I also found a zoom frog works really well- basically use it as a jig- except on the "pull" it grabs their attention- usually get my strikes there- it works for me in situations where fish are in weedy- paddy water, but not going frog/can't match the hatch. Usually I d go spinner there for cleaner water- it's a situational throw- and the only heavy thing I had that wouldn't snag up(carried light)
Also only the green and white works well for me-

Dude I always do fairly well there- this was just a I'm up stand on shore thing- it's my spot when I need to catch fish and regain my mojo

Jd-thanks man- nothing like a few little largemouths to start your day.

I've seen fish schooled up by the dam and in the shallows, and I know the perch and bass seem to be more on fish - y / flashy lures than senkos and bugs-
But I ve never caught one to investigated/ didn't know u could?. Why have u?
(Sidebar- there are crappie In LT too, only got one, but there's never just one of them)
