Couldn't post yesterday due to some personal issues. Didn't miss much though as the swell made it tough to say the least. Hung in there all day fishing several area's to catch a handful of keeper Fluke along with some shorts. The Sea Bass bailed us out, at least most customers went home with dinner. Only 1 customer sick, which I thought to be a miracle with that heave. Pool fish was 6 pounds.
Today the Ocean was much nicer, had better action but it wasn't easy, we had to fish several drops once again to put a half a## catch together. Pool fish went to a Father and Son team who at the same time landed very nice 6.11 and 5.9 pound Fluke. Eddie had a Six pounder, a couple of 3-5 pound fish also.
Had the Rutgers survey team out again today and they took over 30 fish back to the lab. Nice day on the Water, but it's not getting any easier.

As far as the Survey team, Were the fish legal size or are they allowed to dissect shorts?

They have a Special Permit to take the short fish for Research for the SSFFF.
I think the customers would be pissed if their fish were being confiscated.

Two Great Guys, They hung in there all day and finally got to share that one Special moment we all dream about, Father & Son Fist pounding, doesn't get any better than that! Two nice fish made the day for them and they certainly appreciated it.....Dad even purchased two Fishermen Shirts with the winnings!
Doesn't get any better than that......

Wanted to get some time with RJ before he starts his Senior year at Rutgers. Did I say Senior year ? Don't blink... I can not believe it. Had a great day with Capt Ron and crew. Always fish Stripers on the Fishermen and this was our first time Fluking. Another great boat with Brian doing and awesome job as well.
So these big fish, 27.5 and 26 inches, were caught swimming whole squid(purchased from Shop Rite) on
3oz white Spro's with a stinger hook. Tickling the structure we were over and then swimming (Not Jigging) the bait a foot or two off the bottom.
It was really awesome as I was half way up with my fish and then RJ got slammed. I think if we had some good sauce and bread Capt Ron was ready to have some calamari !!!!! RJ also had a jumbo eel which will be going on the smoker tomorrow. Go get em boys.....the season is winding down which means BLACKFISHING is right around the corner !!!!!:D
