Had a half-day fluke and seabass trip today with Dan & crew.
Started out fluking because we had good conditions with the west wind and a nice drift. Lots of bites, just lots of shorts, a few sea robins, as well as some skates and a couple tiny spiny dogfish. We stuck with fluking until the last hour or so and we switched to seabass.
Seabass fishing was EXCELLENT. Loads of shorts, lots of double headers, and nice keepers in the mix. The guys scraped up their limit in under 20 minutes and also released a few more keepers. We also tried a wreck in the shallows for triggers but had no bites as the swell and dirty water had that kind of bite off.
Good trip - only 1 keeper fluke but the seabass definitely made up for the flukin'. Back at it wednesday!
