Joined the Belmar Alte Kakers (Capt Henry, Doctor Bill, Brother Lester, Ronnie the Juror) on Honeybee this morning, to put our 300+ years of flukin' experience to the test (do the math) .. ... . we passed :)
Rather than trek all the way up to Rattlesnake and lose precious jiggin' time, we set up shop not too far from home. Shorts dominated our catch until the tide turned at 10am. I was literally fishless until then, takin' shots from the crew - "Hey Larry- you're takin' up valuable space and adding no meat" . . "This isn't Nantucket!" As the youngest member of the Kakers I had to take the abuse until the tide literally turned. We hit a very productive patch ~60' deep and successfully kept repeated that short drift until the South wind came up, we headed for the barn around Noon.
I was definitely feelin' my Geritol today - from getting shutout to high hook was cool. Catchin' twin 7-lbers with Doctor Bill was awesome. Being invited to join the Belmar Old Timers is a privilege -- thanks guys :)
