Had a 5 man open trip today with some of my fluke sharpie regulars.

Started out with slow fishing on a couple of spots that produced for us earlier in the week, just shorts.

Made a move to rough bottom and finally had a nice flurry of NICE fish in the 4-8# range, followed by a few more when we made a wiggle. By around 9:30 that NE wind picked up a tad and the drift got FAST and the fishing shut off.

Tried a few more rough spots - NG. Made another move to where we had fish on Monday and it was game on --- drop and reel fishing with loads of shorts and some keepers mixed in. Lots of the keepers here were smaller, in the 18-20" range.

That dried up around 1 and with the wind backing off we went back to the rough stuff. A few spots were dead including a real good big fish producing wreck, so I made a hail mary on the last drop of the day on a piece I haven't fished in a few years and it again was GAME ON with a wild bite for the last hour -- almost all of these fish were in the 4-7# range.

Finally got the boat's limit at 3:15, and called it a day.

For the trip we bagged the boat limit of fluke, 15 of which were in the 4-7.5# range. Larry and Brian both had 7 keepers, Bill had his limit of 5, and Tommy and Mike both bagged multiple keepers. We also had LOADS of shorts. Larry had the biggest at 7.5#, and had a few more over 5#, but Brian also had several in that range with his best being 7# -- Mike and Bill also had fish in the 5-7# range.

This was a GREAT trip with some of my best guys/friends. Everybody had huge bags of fillets -- THIS IS HOW FLUKING SHOULD BE! Thanks guys for a great day!!!
