Saturday we only had a couple regulars out. Weatherman got it wrong again because it turned out to be a really nice day, no rain and just a little wind allowing us to have a nice drift all day. We had fish everywhere we went, just wish we had some more keepers come up; although a few real nice fish were dropped. Ended up with 9 keepers and a couple seabass

Sunday we opted to try a cod trip with Joe, Carl, Abe, Chirs, Jeff, and Mari. We havent heard any good reports but sometimes you just gotta go out and find out for yourself. We fished in the 20-45 mile range and weather was a little crappy the first part of the day. First spot Chris hit the bottom and within seconds he was hooked up. Came up with a real nice cod-so we thought the day was going to be really good. After that we had some ling, big ling, and a bunch of stupid pout (everywhere we stopped had pout. some spots more than others; and yet you cant keep any of them! dont understand it but thats the regs.). Worked the piece some more and pulled up some more ling, and Abe had a real nice pollock. We worked a bunch of pieces out there hoping to find the mother load of cod but it just never happened. We plucked at least 1 from every stop but it wasnt anything crazy. I am surprised some of these pieces had a few ling on them. Joe had our lone winter flounder of the day, and the ODDEST catch was Mari with a nice 4.5lb FLUKE all the way out there. By the end of the day the weather was just absolutely perfect and wound up with 6 Cod, 1 pollock, 1 Fluke & Flounder, and a few shy of 100 ling.

Our only opening for the weekend is Sunday 8/14 for FLUKE we have 3 spots left

Thanks for a good day on the sea. Not a banner day but Capt. Ron put forth a great effort to put us on the fish. Good crew to fish with and mate, Ron jr., was always there to assist you. Never saw so many pout being caught. If they were cod they would've sunk the boat !!
