had such a good time yesterday decided to do it again today! Met Sam at oh dark thirty, making bait was not as easy as yesterday. It took some searching but the live well was finally loaded. The big splash came on one of the last bait stops. Sam needed me to lean over to grab a pilling and yes......wait for it.....I missed the pilling and fell in like a wounded whale:). Thank goodness, no harm no foul!! Finally it was off to fish for the clubs upcoming fish fry
just like yesterday, Sam found the mangroves pretty quickly. We had our limit in short order including gators 14 incher. Once again plenty of time to trade up. By 11 or so we had traded our 10 inchers for all 11 inches and better. With time left over and me now dry :( we decided to try and find some red bulls (big red fish). I did manage a nice bluefish but no reds. Another great day in my quest to learn my new local waters. We ended the magrove fishing with at least 20 keepers ORL (only retaining legal limit). At some points it was lock and load fishing.
Thanks again to Sam for putting up with me two days in a row. For this I made another donation to the club!

I'm telling you find someone to take you offshore at night for mangrove snappers and those 14 inchers will look puny next to the #6-10 mangroves.

I think they were called greenback and mud minows. The mud minows are very similar to killies

Mud minnow is a killie.''Greenies" are in the threadfin herring family.Live shrimp is great but ''free'' bait is best.I miss netting bunker in Jersey. We have them but they are smaller and the locals call them ''pogies''.

I can hardly blame you:)
It wasn't much fun fishing in 98• weather after I dried off. Very salty all day. Best shower ever when I got home
