Met my first fishin buddy down here at the dock in Daytona at 630 this morning. He threw the cast net a couple of times while I was slapping at the noseeums. Made bait and headed to the inlet. Set the anchor and started fishin. Took a few minutes but I got the hang of it pretty quick. We had our two man limit by 900.
Some good eats and a nice start.

I'm also surprised you didn't use your namesake bait. Keeping them out of the mangrove roots is just like keeping a Jersey blackfish out of the wreck isn't it? Enjoy.
