Had a full 6 man crew today for our open fluke trip.
Ran back to where we've been fishing all week.
Good action to start as we banged out a few keepers right away, then got into another batch of fish shortly thereafter and had a few good drifts (best drift of the day was 7 keepers) followed by a major lull..
Had 14 keepers by 10AM and one guy with a limit +. At that point fishing slowed so we bounced around picking one here and there, but it was slow.
At the very end of the day, around 215 we got into another good bite with the fluke, and had 2 successive excellent drifts where we put another 8 keepers in the box.
Real good trip. Wound up with 26 keeper fluke to 6#, many of which were in the 3-5# range, and probably a solid 75 shorts. We had 3 guys with limits + on the boat --- This was by far our best trip of the season and the fish, at times, bit their heads off for us today!
