Wow was it a beautiful day out on the water. Conditions were perfect with a light west breeze and a moving outgoing tide. Left keyport at 645 this morning with my 2 friends hoping for a fluke beatdown. I thought it was going to be an early day with ORL but boy was i wrong. Fishing was pretty good however the keeping was horrific! 15 shorts to the boat before we had our first keeper. Stuck with it picking through shorts but it was not meant to be. Around the change of the tide some keepers finally began to make an appearance. We had 3 keepers in 20 minutes before one of those ships came through and killed the bite. at 12, it was running late and my confidence was running low so we took a gamble and ran to a new area where we found some good fishing. In an about 45 minutes of fishing we had 4 keepers and another dozen shorts before the wind picked up and we called it a day. (at least i know where to run sunday)

Meat strips, jigs, gulp of all kind, live peanuts, dead peanuts, it didnt matter! short fish were out and hungry! Most fish liked 4 inch neon green swimming mullets. we caught 5 of the 7 keepers on them. Good day on the water, a HOT day on land.
Total for the day was 7 keepers to 7.5 pounds and probably 30 or so shorts.
