Haven't been out much lately with work and some excessive heat! Last two trips were decent. First was a nice hike down to a spot on the D I've never been to. First thing I saw when I got to the banks was a small school of stripers. Hooked up a few and a fallfish before moving on. Found a slightly deeper spot a ways down and went about waist deep in some strong current to reach it. Switched up to a bigger Rapala and 3rd or 4th cast I got nailed by something bigger. Had em on for a few seconds before the lure came flying out of the water.......

After another half hour or so I started walking back. Saw a bunch of dead shad along the way. Some even seemed pretty fresh. Made my way back upstream and took some casts. Water was low and clear but I did get one Bow that ended up being the fish of the day!

A couple days ago I hit the shed looking for some bass. Water was way low and weeds were getting thick. Had a SOLID green carp, lol, smash a popper. Hooked em up and watched him explode out of the water trying to shake it off. He stayed on just long enough to take me down into the weeds. Tried to horse em out and snapped the line..... Damn! Worse part was while I was stewing and tying on a new lure, the same fish resurfaced, shook the lure off, and went back under. Short while later I was tossin a spinnerbait and hooked up with a decent fighter. Thought it was a bass but it was a good size pick! Called it a day soon after to prevent myself from melting, lol. Heatwaves suck!!

Great report and nice Slime Dart G! I sure do love the spot you hiked down to! If you have time in the near future to fish it at night, here's what you would need to bring! Some light saltwater gear, 5/0-8/0 hooks, 25,30 Fluoro leader, live Eels, Rockies and Gills, Bear and Snake repellant, LOL!!! Seriously there's a lot that goes on there at night but it has to be quiet! Night time is the right time!

Ohhhhhhh........ And don't forget the spotlight! That's for when the 550 lb Bear sneaks up behind you and tries to steal your bait and Reese's peanut butter cups! Just trust me, LOL!!!:D

Great report.
I was at that spot on the D you posted above two weekends ago. It looked like a riot was going on with hundreds of people picnicking, swimming, barbequing, running around and making noise. Needless to say, I kept going!

My guess is you fish during the week.

There are tons of baby Striped Bass in the river right now. There are all completely fixated on chasing around the baby Shad that were born this spring. I guess this is some type of anadromous predator/prey relationship where a prey fish migrates up from the ocean to spawn and a predator does the same to feed on the prey's offspring.

Nice job as always on the mixed bag 'G'! That spot on the 'D' can be tough due to its depth. The trib behind you though, that's another story. I was about 1 1/2 miles upstream from there on Sun afternoon with a friend. We managed a good number of browns and 'bows up to 20", and lots of those baby stripers.

On Sun morn and on Sat morn we took advantage of the bump in flows to hit up the BFB for countless stockie 'bows, then on Mon we hit a lower section of the Bushkill for a mixed bag of 'bows, browns, smallies, stripers and huge fallfish. The trout averaged 14-20 inches, the smallies ran from 1 1/2 to 3 1/2 lbs and the fallfish went up to 18". Fun day!
