Ran our Wednesday open boat "deepwater bottom" trip today fishing some snags in the 110-220' range.
First drop we had a slow pick of ling and congos, as well as a couple flounder, a 17" blackfish that was safely released and a couple keeper seabass.
Next couple of drops on wrecks in the deep yielded more ling, a cod, and a few more flounder. Last 2 drops we had decent ling fishing.
Was tough staying on the drift OR on the hook today as we had little wind or current. We made the most of crappy conditions!
At the end of the end of the day, About 120 ling, 6 jumbo winter flounder, 1 10# cod and 2 keeper seabass made it to the box. HH had about 20 mixed fish (mostly ling).
Real good trip --- Nice bags of fillets For the whole crew!
