Hit two sections - one near Chatham USGS gauge and the other near Basking Ridge off the beaten path(actually no path at all). Weeds were high and mosquitoes were ravenous. Water clarity was okay but certain;y not clear. No pike caught but one large one about 30" hooked twice but lost. Otherwise a panfish day with a bunch of colorful redbreast caught along with some other fish. Not bad but really having no luck with the pike lately.

Final tally:

Redbreast Sunfish: 56
Green Sunfish: 7
Largemouth Bass: 6
Black Crappie: 3
Chain Pickerel: 1
Redfin Pickerel: 1

.

If I knew you were in the neighborhood, I would have invited you inside for a beer.

I'm glad you at least saw a pike. It's more than I see when I'm out there.

I don't think pike are too abundant in that area. I think Eddie has gotten some but I've never had any luck....

nice group of fish specimens, especially the redfin pickerel haven't seen one of them in a long time.
