Well today dad, our friend craig, and me went on a trip on Tagged Fish for bottom fish. Before i even talk about the fishing let me tell you that he runs a top notch operation. We had never been on the boat before and now i know why people speak so highly of them. We will be back for sure for many other trips. The boat is bad ass too. Lots of space to fish and rides very nice in the water. If you have never been out with them id highly recommend jumping on a trip.

Now on to the fishing. It was awesome. First thing we did was stop on a spot and limit the boat out on sea bass. Took all of id say 20 - 30 minutes. Big knuckle heads too. Dad got a real nice one. I got a crazy double header of a keeper sea bass and a grey eel. Thought i had the world record sea bass on the line! Then we moved on to the ling ground and we bounced around from spot to spot catching a ton of ling. Craig got 2 of the biggest ling i have ever seen. They put one on the boga and it was almost 3 pounds. Maybe he will post the picture he took. The fishing was steady. On the last drop i dropped down and was bouncing the sinker and got hung up in the wreck. Tried my hardest to get it out but wasnt gonna happen. So i broke the line and reeled up. Lost my top shot so i retied the line with new top shot and rig. Drop back down and get hammered right away. I set the hook and the thing starts fighting like crazy. I was thinking maybe i got a big tog and i can finally break into the double digit club. About half the way up it just quit fighting and went to dead weight. So now im thinking its another conger eel. Reel and reel and get the fish to the top of the water and with mike the mate standing next to me we see its a nice cod. He grabs the gaff and plucks it outta the water!! Very cool. Didnt get a weight on it but it was a nice size.

We got back to the dock and everyone got a huge bag of ling and a bag of sea bass. A ton of fish!

Just want to say thank you to Capt and crew for a great day on the water.

Now Pictures or it never happened!

Jeff
Just wanted to commend you on your reports and post. When you started posting you would only post very short one word or very short responses. I have noticed lately that you have been putting together some great detailed post with pictures. You have also been very helpful to other anglers in responding to there questions and sharing your knowledge and information with them to try to help them out. I know I for one greatly appreciate you taking the time to type up your reports and comments. Buy paying it forward you are being blessed with some great catches that you can share with your Dad and others
I see a double digit fluke and blackfish in your near future this year
Keep up the great work as I am sure I am not alone in enjoying reading your reports

Great report! Great Day! It was good to see you guys on the boat and nice to know you have joined the cast of regulars. I hope you are planning to do some fall & winter togging on Tagged Fish? Just come with a thick skin and open mind, as you may have noticed, Capt Chad and some of the regulars will not hesitate to let you know when you screw up and miss or drop a fish! Of course all the verbal abuse is done in a "kind and loving way" to help you learn!

Very nice Cod by the way!
