Departed the dock at 5 A.M. yesterday heading to an area around the Glory hole in search of Mako steaks for the grill. 4 buckets of chum with mackerel, bluefish, and bunker for bait. set 4 rods out a varied depths and waited, and waited, and waited. after 4 hours we had a few small Makos in the slick and checking out the baits. a short time later the surface line went off and after 15 min a short Mako was landed and released. We had three more runoffs without a hook-set. All runoffs were on the un weighted surface baits. All and all a good day on the water. 80 gallons of fuel burned
