Mammoth Fluke on Father's Day
Went to the rocks today for the last day of sea bass. We had a nice pick of shorts and keepers and a couple of keeper fluke. My friend Joel wanted to be home by 4:30 so that meant be off the water by 2:30. So around noon we left the rocks and headed back towards the marina. We decided to try a couple of drifts in the sandy hook bay. Man, was that a good move. As soon as we stopped Joel had nice fluke on and landed that fish. And then it was my turn. At first, it felt like I hooked a boot filled with sand and then I got tap tap-tap-tap and knew it was a big fluke. When he surfaced we couldn't believe how big this fluke was. It weighed in at the tackle box at 15lbs. What a fathers day gift. Hope u all had a great fathers day! This is one I will never forget.
