Had a day off Thursday and wanted to shift gears a bit so off I went to my favorite trout area. Hit a new spot on a river I've been to before. First spot, first cast, boom! Nice rainbow!

After that, I started working my way upstream, which was definitely a challenge at some spots. Let's just say, the only thing dry on me was the backpack I was carrying, lol. Commando fishing at its finest!! Found my way up to the base of a small falls with a nice pool below. Caught another nice rainbow and a 15" smallie here. Smallie managed to escape before I got a pic.

On the way back down I was able to work some spots a little better and was rewarded with 3 more rainbows. One was every bit of 16/17" and fat!! Best part was watching him go full airborne as he hit my lure! Luckily he stayed on and I got him in!

Best part was, as I got back to the first spot I hit when I got started, took one last cast and hooked a beauty of a Brookie!! Perfect ending to a great day on the crik'.........

Almost forgot, I know we're all about the fish porn here, so how about some frog porn, literally!! Almost stepped on these two love birds on my way back to the car. That would've been awkward, lol.....

Not sure, no thermometer. But, it felt cooler to the touch than the P which I hit today and was reading 68* at almost noon. Last couple nights have dipped into the 50s so I was pretty sure it would be all good..........

Nice job 'G'! I've been wanting to hit that stretch for the past couple of months, just haven't been able to get there. And yeah Eddie, you're right on the money about what may or may not be swimming in there. I once landed a beauty of a 29" walleye in the deep pool where 'G's last trout pic is, gotten lots of stripers up in there, some big autumn spawn-run browns, and of course every spring/early summer the lampreys are up in there spawning. Nice to know the trouts are still holding up in there 'G'! Thanks for the pics!
