Took the boat out Sunday to target some big stripers. The crew consisted of my Dad, Chrisper, my friend Bill and myself. We broke the inlet into beautiful conditions and headed to the spot.
Set out the trolling spread on some deep Marks and didn't have much for a bit. Did some looking around and found some fish higher up in the water column. Had one hit that peeled drag but the hooks didn't stick. We continued to pound the same area and not long after two rods went down. The hooked pulled quickly on one, but the other stayed tight. It was clearly a nice fish, and i quickly got the fish in the boat. The length/girth formula put the fish at right around 45lbs. After a few quick pics, she was revived and released.

We continued to look around with nothing else, so left to explore other areas. The bunker appeared scattered, so we began to troll another area. However, we finally started to see some thicker, snag able schools so we pulled the trolling gear and went into snag mode. Unfortunately, before we could start we saw the fog bank advancing from the south and quickly got socked in, so we packed it in and began the drive home in less than 50yds of visibility.

We weren't ready to stop Fishing just yet, so we decide to do a few drifts in the Manasquan river to see if we could find some fluke to bend the rods. On the first drift, Chrisper nailed this beautiful keeper fluke.
