On Friday, we had the Dan LaBarbera party from Staten Island out
for a day of bottom fishing. We left the dock at 0500 hours wanting to go deep first. First drop produced Cod, Pollock and Ling. We worked the area for a couple of drops. We decided to head to more shallow water and target the tasty Black Sea Bass. Fishing started out hot and heavy but slowed due to the strong South wind. But we still managed to catch several nice Sea Bass. We had a great day fishing with the boys from Staten Island.
On Saturday, we had the Albert Leonberger party out for a day of Striper fishing. We left the dock at 0700 hrs. We had some reports of big Bass North of our Inlet. So we got to the grounds and put the sticks out, and got an immediate hook up. Albert senior was able to land the big boy which measured 44" and weighed 40lbs. We stayed in the area most of the day landing two more Bass. The South wind came on strong and shut the bite off.
