Better late than never right? Took the maiden voyage in my buddies new boat(23 cardinal) and went to green turtle. Great little lake especially for a small boat and a test run.

Morning started slow with 3 of us throwing everything from shiners to cranks. Started catching sunnies on a rooster tail and that was our go to for the rest of the day. Caught some huge sunnies, crappie, a perch, around 4 pickerel, 2 or 3 bass and capped the trip off with a nice little trout that picked up on powerbait.http://i116.photobucket.com/albums/o35/tomgriffinII/sunny.jpghttp://i116.photobucket.com/albums/o35/tomgriffinII/bass.jpghttp://i116.photobucket.com/albums/o35/tomgriffinII/boat.jpg

Bass and one of the pickerel took a live herring. Everything else was most rooster or spinner bait. Same yesterday, will get to post it later.

Water is really pretty

Thank u kindly

I've seen some pretty big bass there cruising the shallows, but haven't caught other than dinks. I've had best luck with trout there though. They hold over and you can get them all summer long in the deep end near the dam. Green Turtle gets heavy pressure in ice fishing season, and from shore anglers, but I rarely see more than half a dozen boats on the water.

Quite a few yakers, and yea I grabbed a trout. U can see that bass, but they don't bite. Think they eat herring.
Yea it's nice. We've been on weekends and it's not over crowded
Road to boat launch is a little prickly, but i scouted it in a Subaru Impreza, so it's not that bad

I read someone on here called it Monksville Jr. before, and that's a great line! It can be a wonderful lake or a terrible lake depending on what the fish want to do that day (just like monks). Amongst the largemouth, pickerel and trout, there's also some smallies in there and some nice yellow perch. It's definitely a welcome peaceful retreat from the summer crowds at monksville. I just don't trust the road leading to the boat launch for a few days after it rains. It's a mess when it's dry, let alone when it's muddy.
