I knew it was gonna be a good day when I caught my first 2016 keeper at 5:45 this morning, fishing off Jakesdad's bow before we left the dock. Was joined by Henry, Dales, Ronnie and Billy and we proceeded to put 6 more keepers in the box before I had to bale at 11am. Those guys are still fishing, and I'm sure that my premature departure turned the bite back on

Thanks Henry for the opening day invite as always. We picked through many 17.5" fish and shorter for the 6 keepers. Action was all on the incoming and shut down big time on the outgoing. Great morning with better people and just the start. Lots of fish when they decided to feed!
Larry, you forgot to leave the Karma when you left;)

As always nice to have a good crew. Today was totally reverse of what I thought would happen.
Did a recon earlier in the week, caught over 50 fish between 2 of us with 15 having been legit keepers if the season was open. That day all fish caught on the outgoing. Today figured we would fish the last of the incoming, water 52.2 on the incoming. Had 6 nice fish and many quality shorts until the tide died at 8. Slack produce few shorts and no keepers, finally the tide started to move water went up to 54, and in the next 3 hours we could not find a keeper and even the shorts slowed to a slow pick.
Still a nice day on the water with old friends continuing our opening day tradition. Back at it in the morning to see if we can find them.
Great first day out guys. Larry that is a great picture. Love the shirt
Great start and better days to come
