Participated in the KDC eye contest. started fishing 5am saturday morning and our first 10 casts produced 5 brids...ok a good start but the wrong species haha. proceeded to pick away at a few eyes, but nothing great.

The bite changed as the sun got high so we weighed in (fish stayed great in the live well and were able to be released) and got some bait and fished deep. pulled in 3 eyes from deep including a little bit of a better fish.

My buddy needed take a break to go to his friend's memorial service. We headed back out around 4pm and planned to spend the night pounding eyes...but it was not meant to be. The wind tossed us around a bit but we were able to get into some more brids and a few smaller eyes early in the night including a nice sized brid.

The cold front moved in around 10-11pm and the bait activity turned off like a switch! we tried and tried but with only one small eye from 10pm till 3am we were pretty much spent and called it. One of our eyes was just good enough for 6th place oh well better than last contest.

caught one walleye around 5;30am saturday and that was it for me.fished 7pm
till 1:30am sunday with just 2 rock bass to show for it.took a 2 hour nap and was fishing again from 4am till 7am sunday morning with out a touch.that cold front stopped the bait from moving and pretty much shut the bite down for me.
Chris congrats on your eye,did you place in the contest??

That poor Walleye stayed tied up to a dock all week for a $20 GIFT CARD?!? :p:p:p

Way to give it hell guys, those conditions were rough! 44 entries isn't bad considering the conditions. I fished friday night, then didn't even bother the rest of the weekend and haven't since.

One Friday trip until 4 am is enough to wipe out wknd aspirations of more fishing lol. Then again, after dropping a 26" brid in the hornet I'd be more than content with r&r the rest of the wknd!

you think it's a joke, but I'd bet it happens! they should do a dock sweep on the lake the night before hahaha.

I was out again last night in the can with jdtuna...we both got hit most likely by the same small fish once and that was it for the night, 8-11:30 or so. a lot of bait to start the night but no hits, no smashes, then the bait disappeared almost completely by total darkness and we methodically fished and fished with nothing to show for it.

why do peeps always think a contest is rigged????these guys and gals put allot of work into trying to make these contests good and inviting to fisher peeps.i know all 3 winners and I don't think they would "Risk it All" for that
money.

Caught the day before though, ain't worth crap! Hahaha

I'm not saying i think it's rigged, if I thought it was rigged I wouldn't have paid to participate for all 7 contests.

well to be fair, i've never personally seen this happen (obviously if i did i would've said something, idk if anyone here has actually seen it happen) But i have also heard second hand stories about it. here say really, but nothing would surprise me.
