Has anybody tried drifting worms by the bridges in the Shrewsbury or Navasink yet. I promised I would take my stepson out, but my boat is not big enough or equipped to really head out into the bay very far.
He has never been fishing in his life yet, so I ws hoping to be able to get him out and just catch a schoolie for starters. And if a keeper was to come along, even better.

Any bridge at high tide with deep water will hold bass, along with using worms you can use eels or live bunker, the biggest bass I ever saw was at the footing of a bridge, I speared a 58 pounder before I saw this one that I wouldn't dare pull the trigger on... Slobbos are to be had at bridges, many that you wouldn't even think are there! It never hurts to try

We rent a skiff right next to the bridge and see an occasional bass caught there all year long at first light. can also troll plugs or shads.

Sandworms are a great bait, especially this time of year. Big Weakies usually come in the spring as well.
