Left work at 10pm and pre arranged room at Smiths Colonial Motel in Hancock, rolled in just after midnight to a very clean room and the key left in the door for me. Hit Circle E at 7am for an omelet and an order of bacon on the side. Got over to Deposit around 8am to find a deathly low West Branch. I think this is the lowest I have ever seen this section of the river. Made my way over to one of the deeper spots in the no kill section. Nothing. Packed up and headed over to Hale Eddy where there were 4 guys spin fishing. They had a nice 18" brown on the stringer, one guy hooked and released a foot long brown while I was there. I got nothing so I went into clean up mode, 2 more anglers showed up as I was leaving. Hit a spot near the bridge in Hancock, nothing (place was trashed). Went down to junction pool where a few float boats were coming out of the West Branch, didn't spend much time there. Went down to Kellams Bridge on the main stem where I have done very well before, both off the banks and drift boat fishing, had one on and lost it. Went further down to Hankins, again one of my favorite spots when we float, nothing. Ended up in Callicoon around 1pm, fished there, nothing. The less I catch the faster I move so I kind of self destruct on slow days. Landing nets to me are like lost socks in the dryer. I got out of the water at Kellams Bridge, no net. Retraced my steps nothing. Landing nets just seem to vanish while I am fishing. The next net I am drilling a hole in the wood and going to triple lanyard it to my body. Had a fun time. Floating up there in 20 days (weather permitting)

Floating there next weekend.
Was hoping for a nice warm day like we have been having, but long range looks like winter is heading back

waters still cold up there slow down....ya did the rite thing by going down river but hancock to calicoon by one is movin waaaay too fast fer april....That sucks about the water levels but the hatches will be early and fisherman plentiful....Good luck on da float....its all condition sensitive up there
