Found a very small dead fish on the shore of Delaware Bay yesterday. I would guess that is is a bunker but there is no black spot.

It's a juvenile bunker not the right shape for an alewif or herring

Looks like a Menhaden.

Definitely a bunker. You can see that the spot is faded.

If you look at the mouth very closely it appears to be a bunker to me

Lol let's end this debate right now it's not a shad alewife or any other type of bait fish other than a baby bunker. That's it, period, the end, game over.

pre-emptive 2016 njfishing multiple Fish ID post response : if you catch a small amberjack looking thing, its a banded rudderfish.
