Anything like party boat fishing down there? WOuld love to go, but no one wants to fish but me, so can't afford the 1150 a day. Couldn't find any info on open boats.

There are charter boats through the hotels but I don't think it's as good as finding a boat privately. I wasn't able to fish my one time in the DR unfortunately

Blind squirrel - i didnt see any old cars but i seen a couple wwii cranes. Very private down there now most places have 15ft walls
mvp - i was using a pair of gopro blacks. Got em last year for my trip to quepos costa rica. Went 13/16 on sails and 1/1 on yellowfin tuna. Ill have a video up tomorrow i just figured out how to edit lol.
Teddy - the only party boats they have down there are for partying and come full of women lol but you can also do a 4 hr day for $780 private or you always have the option of splitting a charter with 5 other people but the only downfall is they pick names out of a hat for fishing order

Good to see you got out. It's been 15 to 25 out of the NE here all week.
My last day here in Punta Cana DR and got blown out 3 days in a row and never did get out :(

Thanks, Ffs. My late wife & I vacationed in Santo Domingo in the late '80s and were disappointed in the recreational fishing opportunities there, but Punta Cana's apparently another story altogether. I'd owned a white '68 Chevy Impala convertible with the usual rusted-out quarter panels, and was very impressed by the number and great condition of the '68 Chevys down there where the roads don't have to be salted in the winter. They were used a lot as taxis and looked almost new.

That sucks gerry I'm sorry to hear you guys didn't even get a shot at em. We had 1 white marlin spit the hook the second he took it but my biggest fear for every fishing trip is weather. Catching nothing is part of the game sometimes but when mother nature doesn't even give ya a shot it really gets me heated
Blind squirrel - lots of gas powered scooters down there from what I seen
